Luanda: Angola placed third in the women's 5x5 category of the African Wheelchair Basketball Championship after defeating Morocco 36-21 on Thursday in Luanda. In their first international competition, the national team won the bronze medal and gained valuable experience. According to Angola Press News Agency, the tournament includes some of the top African teams in the category, including Algeria and South Africa, who will play in the championship game later today. In the men's category, Angola obtained fifth place after defeating Egypt 46-43 on Thursday. At halftime, the opponent was leading 22-27. In the qualifying rounds, Kenya also defeated Liberia 72-13 and finished in seventh place. The final and third-place matches are yet to be played, with the fifth through ninth positions defined as follows: 5th Angola, 6th Egypt, 7th Kenya, 8th Liberia, and 9th DRC.
