Uíge: The Head of the Higher Institute of Educational Sciences (ISCED) in Uíge Province, Agostinho Manuel, has announced the construction of new facilities for the institution, set to commence in the coming year. Currently, ISCED operates from buildings originally constructed during the colonial period, previously serving as Uíge High School. According to Angola Press News Agency, the new infrastructure will be developed on a 20-hectare site located in the Condo Benze area, adjacent to Kimpa Vita University on the outskirts of Uíge city. The planned facilities will include 40 classrooms, a laboratory, and a multipurpose pavilion. Additionally, sports amenities such as an 11-a-side football field and two indoor futsal fields will be part of the development. The comprehensive infrastructure project will also feature a boarding facility for students and residences for faculty and staff. Supportive facilities, including a health center, a library, and a cafeteria, are also planned. The new construction is valu ed at USD 20 million and aims to enhance the living and working conditions for faculty members. Agostinho Manuel expressed that the topographical work involving soil analysis and soil compaction is currently underway. He noted that a company is engaged in creating a model for the project, indicating progress towards the realization of the new educational facilities.
