Factory in Bengo Begins Production of 30,000 Tons of Manganese Silicon Annually

Bengo: A factory with the capacity to produce 30,000 tons of manganese silicon per year was inaugurated on Friday in the municipality of Panguila by Maria Antonia Nelumba, the governor of Bengo province.

According to Angola Press News Agency, the factory was built with an investment of 20 million US dollars and has created 260 jobs for Angolans. The number of jobs could increase to 600 with the implementation of other phases of the project, as stated by the CEO of Xintai Henseng, Liu Feng.

Liu Feng emphasized the importance of systematic training and the transfer of technical knowledge and practical experience in the workplace. He highlighted that more young Angolans would become skilled workers, technicians, and managers within the company through these initiatives.

Feng pointed out that industrial development extends beyond economic benefits to include social responsibilities. He mentioned that part of the manganese silicon production is intended for domestic consumption, particularly for the national steel industry, while the remainder is exported to Europe, the United States, and some Asian countries.

Manganese silicon, also known as FeSiMn, is a vital ferroalloy in the steel industry. It acts as a deoxidizer and alloying agent, removing oxygen and impurities from steel, thereby enhancing its strength and hardness. Manganese silicon plays a crucial role in the production of special and stainless steels.
