Lubango: The Provincial Health Office in Huíla has been bolstered with 748 medicine kits, ensuring supply for peripheral and municipal hospitals until March. This recent delivery aims to enhance healthcare services across the province. According to Angola Press News Agency, Domingos Tchilondela, head of the Hospital Logistics Department of the Provincial Health Office, shared this information with the press, highlighting that the medicines were received from the supervising ministry. The allocation includes 269 kits for health posts, 272 for medical centers, and 207 for complementary hospitals. Tchilondela noted that of the 23 municipalities, 13 had collected their kits by December 31st of the previous year, while others faced transportation challenges. To mitigate the lack of advance distribution, the Office took steps to ensure coverage during the festive season. The kits for medical posts and centers primarily contain analgesics, anti-inflammatories, antibiotics, and expendable materials. The complement ary kits, designated for municipal hospitals and reference centers, include more specialized medicines tailored to the services provided. In addition to the kits, the Office received significant quantities of other essential medicines, such as benzathine penicillin, esomeprazole, loratadine, and expendable materials for road accident victims. The Provincial Health Office emphasizes that these medicines should be used appropriately, monitored, and dispensed free of charge to those in need. The Huíla province, comprising 23 municipalities and a population of approximately 3,302,866, operates 319 health units, including provincial and municipal hospitals, centers, and health posts, with a workforce exceeding four thousand employees.
