The First investigating judge at the Judicial Counter-Terrorism Division, who is in charge of investigating the cases of “terrorist conspiracy” and “conspiracy against state security”, has issued international arrest warrants for 12 suspects who are currently abroad, a judicial source told TAP on Tuesday evening.
Division spokesperson Hanen Gaddes told TAP the warrants were issued for former prime minister Youssef Chahed, former chief of staff of the president Nadia Akacha, Mouadh Khriji, Kamel Guisani, Mustapha Khedhr, Maher Zid and former minister and Ennahda leader Lotfi Zitoun, as well as Abdelkader Farhat, Adel Daadaa, Chahrazed Akacha, Ali Hlioui and Rafik Yahya.
Gaddes also noted that investigations are ongoing into other suspects currently at large, with the possibility of international arrest warrants being issued against them.
Several other people have been detained for months in connection with these two cases, including politicians, former ministers and businessmen.
