Tunis: Spokesperson for the Independent High Authority for Elections (ISIE), Mohamed Tlili Mnasri, announced on Wednesday the start of the process of filling vacancies in local, regional and district councils. Members of these councils will be elected for a five-year term, Mnasri told TAP. The principle is to elect the second highest vote-getter in the district council elections, he added. The ISIE will then fill the vacancies in the local and regional councils by electing the second highest vote-getter. The ISIE has sent letters to the governors with the names of those affected.
