Ndalatando: The Advisory Council of the Ministry of Public Administration, Labor and Social Security (MAPTSS) has put forward a recommendation for the approval of a single salary scale. This proposal aims to ensure internal consistency and provide clarity in the criteria used for awarding salaries. According to Angola Press News Agency, the event, which took place in Ndalatando, Cuanza-Norte, also emphasized the importance of integrating salary updates into multi-year budget planning to ensure financial sustainability. The council highlighted the need for periodic monitoring and evaluation of purchasing power, productivity, retention, and adjustments under the New Remuneration Architecture in Public Administration (RINAR). The council meeting, attended by 108 participants and chaired by Teresa Dias, head of the sector, addressed several key issues. Among them was the need to adjust the inspection visit plan to improve working conditions. The final document of the meeting pointed out that some companies cont inue to violate the General Labor Law, particularly concerning modern slavery. Participants also stressed the importance of strengthening integrity and reducing illicit practices during inspection visits. The council recommended measures to combat sexual harassment in the workplace and advocated for launching vocational training programs with funding tied to employability targets. Additionally, it emphasized prioritizing investments in sectors with higher potential for absorbing young workers. The meeting conveyed support for enhancing the performance evaluation model, suggesting it be extended to all employees and tailored specifically for those in management and leadership roles. The participants also called for the maintenance of permanent social dialogue with unions and social partners, reinforcing transparency throughout the reform phases. The MAPTSS Advisory Council's gathering aimed to review the achievements of recent years and to identify future challenges. It brought together chairpersons of boar ds of directors, administrators, national directors, general and deputy heads of supervised bodies, social partners, provincial heads of the National Institute of Employment and Vocational Training (INEFOP), the National Institute of Social Security (INSS), and the General Labour Inspectorate (IGT), along with department heads and consultants.
