Luanda: The Secretary of State for Telecommunications and Information Technology, ngelo Buta Joo, reaffirmed his ministry's commitment to enhancing the telecommunications sector's contribution to Angola's Gross Domestic Product (GDP). Speaking at the III Expanded Board Meeting of Angola Telecom, Joo emphasized that increasing the sector's GDP share is pivotal for advancing telecommunications in the nation. According to Angola Press News Agency, Joo highlighted the ongoing collaboration among sector operators as they work towards achieving digital transformation in Angola. He underscored the importance of the Angola Telecom meeting in discussing strategic initiatives aimed at unifying the sector, with goals of achieving financial stability, accurate accounting, and high-quality service delivery. During the event, Adilson dos Santos, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Angola Telecom, shared the company's progress, noting a projected net profit of 14 billion kwanzas by 2025. This financial growth, he stated , is crucial for investing in human resources and expanding infrastructure to improve service quality and connectivity, essential for Angola's digital progress. Dos Santos stressed that achieving the desired level of connectivity requires collaboration with strategic partners and mutual trust. He pointed out that the digital landscape demands excellence in management to provide quality services to Angolans. The meeting's final day will concentrate on key projects such as the National Broadband Network, SARSsy, Ilumina Angola, and discussions on the General Labor Law, Emotional Intelligence in Management, and the 2026 Operational Plan. The initial days focused on Marketing and Product Management, Business, Infrastructure and Fleet Management, Human Capital, Occupational Qualification, Quality Management System, Privatization Program, and their anticipated impacts.
