Benguela: Over 100 families in the province of Icolo e Bengo were impacted by heavy rains on Saturday, with significant disruptions reported in various neighborhoods.
According to Angola Press News Agency, the Civil Protection and Fire Service confirmed that at least 115 families were affected, and 23 infrastructures sustained damage due to the severe weather.
Additionally, the press release detailed that a tree fell in the central area of Zango 8.000, blocking the access road to the Z18 building. A similar incident occurred on Vov´ Baio street in the Sagres neighborhood, leading to traffic disruptions. The situation was further compounded by the overflow of the retention basin in the Tchokwe neighborhood, affecting the movement of people and resources near the km 30 market exit.
The public had previously been warned by INAMET about the possibility of intense rains during this period, urging residents to observe preventive measures to minimize impact.
