President Saied meets PM, urges more co-ordination between all ministries’ work

President Kais Saied met, on Thursday at the Palace of Carthage, with Prime Minister Najla Bouden.

The meeting tackled the progress of government work in the past few days, according to a statement from the Presidency.

The President of the Republic stressed the need to tighten coordination between the work of all ministries, since each sector is linked to many others and because the Tunisian state is one.

The Head of State emphasised the need for every official to be at every moment at the service of the Tunisian state and the national community.

On the other hand, the President of the Republic stressed the social role of the state, saying Tunisia will not accept any «diktats» from any entity whatsoever, as «solutions must stem from the Tunisian popular will, be purely Tunisian and serve the impoverished majority who have been suffering from misery and poverty.»

He pointed out that «statements coming from abroad only bind those who made them, and no one has the right to bind the state to what it is rejected by its people.”

The President also said «no one in Tunisia either have the right to act contrary to the policy determined by the President of the Republic.»
