Luanda: The second edition of the agribusiness fair in the municipality of Palanca, located in the southern Hula Province, has successfully generated 24 million kwanzas, exceeding the initial forecast of 15 million kwanzas. This announcement was made by municipal administrator Eva Lombe during the fair's closing ceremony.
According to Angola Press News Agency, the impressive revenue was achieved through a combination of sales, contract signings, and formalized commercial agreements among the diverse exhibitors. The event has evidently matured from being a mere exhibition to a solid business platform, playing a crucial role in promoting local economic growth.
The five-day event featured 105 exhibitors representing various sectors such as agricultural production, processing companies, financial institutions, input suppliers, and technical partners, alongside the gastronomy sector. The fair garnered attention from approximately 11,000 visitors from different parts of the province, highlighting the increasing interest among citizens and investors in advancing the municipality's agricultural sector.
During her address, Eva Lombe underscored the formation of essential strategic partnerships among producers, entrepreneurs, private companies, financial institutions, development support organizations, and public entities. These collaborations are paving the way for new investment opportunities, technical assistance, marketing, and production financing.
Eva Lombe further elaborated that these partnerships are pivotal in strengthening agricultural value chains, ensuring the sustainability of local producers. She also acknowledged the contributions of exhibitors, sponsors, institutional partners, media outlets, defence and security forces, technical teams, and volunteers. Moreover, she commended the farmers for their indispensable role in food production, wealth generation, and fostering local development.
