Luanda: Father Belchior Tiópio, known in literary circles by the pseudonym Kandimblé, launched three unpublished literary works on Thursday, in Lubango City, focusing on spirituality and experiences. The publications, titled "O Draible," "Tríade: Papas, Bispos e Sacerdotes," and "Intimidade," were presented at the Archdiocesan Pastoral Hall of the Lubango Cathedral to the faithful, writers, academics, and guests. According to Angola Press News Agency, with the launch of these three titles, Belchior Tiópio now has 14 published works since his literary debut in 2011. In statements to ANGOP in this city, the writer stated that the main objective of the new publications is to encourage a love of reading and contribute to the intellectual, human, and spiritual development of citizens. The author emphasized that reading is an indispensable tool to combat ignorance, strengthen knowledge, and promote a more fraternal coexistence among peoples. "O Draible," a 530-page book, provides historical data, statistics, curi osities, and main events of the 22 editions of the FIFA World Cup, from 1930 in Uruguay to 2022 in Qatar. Tiópio explained that the book required almost two decades of research for its comprehensive collection and organization of information. The second work, "Tríade: Papas, Bispos e Sacerdotes," offers a historical journey of the Catholic Church, from Saint Peter to Pope Francis, including biographical information on the pontiffs and archbishops of the Archdiocese of Lubango. It also details the evolution of the Metropolitan Cathedral of Southern Angola, the Parish of Saint Joseph of Lubango, and other significant events in the Church's regional history. "Intimidade" comprises poems inspired by experiences during the Covid-19 pandemic, reflecting feelings of fear, hope, faith, and overcoming challenges faced globally. The three works were published by Editorial Círculo Rojo, from Spain, with two thousand copies of "O Draible" and one thousand copies each of the other two titles. The books will be available in bookstores across the provinces of Luanda, Benguela, Namibe, and Zaire. Belchior Tiópio further disclosed his plans to publish his 15th and 16th works later this year, featuring a book in English dedicated to sports and another in Spanish on Canon Law. In his concluding remarks, Kandimblé expressed his hope that the new publications will inspire children, young people, and adults to cultivate a reading habit, as knowledge acquired through books is a vital path to building a more just, cultured, and supportive society.
