Bom jesus: Seven hundred citizens of the municipality of Bom Jesus, in the province of Icolo and Bengo, on Wednesday benefited from various professional kits, within the scope of the Integrated Community Assistance Program (PIAC). According to Angola Press News Agency, the kits include tools for hairdressing, construction, manicure and pedicure, cutting and sewing machines, bread ovens, and motorbikes from three agricultural cooperatives for transporting products from the countryside to commercial areas, among others. This initiative is aimed at enhancing the financial independence of families and offering employment opportunities to young people. At the conclusion of the three-day event, the governor of Icolo and Bengo, Auzilio Jacob, urged the recipients to employ young job seekers and highlighted that those who received kits with wheelbarrows, machetes, and shovels will have the chance to be hired by the municipal administration for basic sanitation work in the district. Auzilio Jacob further elaborated that PIAC was established to address employment issues and bolster the economic and financial autonomy of families. The project encompasses several sub-programs, including "Patient-Friendly Hospital" for improved hospital care, "Child-Friendly School," and "Driver-Friendly Road," among others. The PIAC event in Bom Jesus was held from the 15th to the 17th of this month, featuring visits to various construction projects, including 1500 houses in Ngolome, school 4007, the Quilomga Grande project, and a reference center in the area. Municipal administrator Joao de Almeida lauded the event for its role in alleviating difficulties and enhancing family well-being. PIAC has so far supported around 6,000 citizens out of the 10,500 planned. Launched this year, the program is set to conclude in 2027, with a focus on promoting social inclusion and economic empowerment in the neediest areas of the province's seven municipalities. The program's focus areas include fostering entrepreneurship, providing scholarships, and supporting agriculture, livestock, civil construction, and basic sanitation.
