Catete: The United Kingdom's ambassador to Angola, Bharat Joshi, announced in Catete, Icolo e Bengo, that the UK seeks to establish investment partnerships aimed at enhancing the socio-economic landscape of the province.
According to Angola Press News Agency, Ambassador Joshi conveyed this interest during a brief visit to Icolo e Bengo, emphasizing the province's potential for investment in various economic sectors. The British diplomat highlighted the UK's intent to support the province's development in areas such as agriculture, education, and vocational technical training.
The ambassador also mentioned the UK's interest in contributing to the energy, railway, technology, and hospital sectors. Additionally, there is a focus on importing tropical fruits from Angola, particularly pineapple, papaya, banana, and guava.
Throughout his visit, Ambassador Joshi toured the Cipro Group, a notable business entity in the province, to understand the economic opportunities Icolo e Bengo offers. The province, established less than nine months ago under Luanda's new Political and Administrative Division, is based in Catete and comprises seven municipalities and 11 communes with a population of approximately 1,372,670 inhabitants.
