Benguela: The Secretary-General of the Angolan Woman's Organization (OMA), Emlia Carlota Dias, has publicly denounced the sexual assault of a five-year-old child. Labeling it a heinous crime, Dias emphasized that such acts violate human dignity and require condemnation from society at large.
According to Angola Press News Agency, Angolan Public Television aired the distressing case on Tuesday, revealing the assault that occurred in the municipality of Catumbela, Benguela province. In a press release issued on Wednesday, Dias expressed profound indignation, describing the incident as "shocking." She stressed that no society should tolerate its children being subjected to such atrocious crimes and strongly condemned the act.
Dias reiterated OMA's dedication to opposing and addressing all forms of violence against children and women. She called for the mobilization of families, communities, and institutions to actively prevent these crimes and ensure that offenders are held accountable. Emphasizing collective responsibility, she stated, "The protection of our children must be a collective priority. Everyone has a responsibility to report, prevent, and combat this type of crime."
The OMA leader also expressed solidarity with the victim and their family, assuring that the organization will persist in advocating for the safety and dignity of children.
