Angolan Beverage Industry Makes Historic Debut at International Forum in Kenya

Nairobi: The Angolan Beverage Industries Association (AIBA) concluded its participation in the International Council of Beverage Associations (ICBA) Forum in Kenya this Friday, marking a historic moment for the sector.

According to Angola Press News Agency, sent to ANGOP today, the Angolan association participated for the first time in an event of this magnitude, bringing together entities and companies from the global non-alcoholic beverage sector. The forum focused on topics such as sustainability, health, economic development, regulation, innovation, and cooperation between markets.

The ICBA, an organization that connects national and regional associations and multinational companies in over 200 countries and territories, has been expanding its presence on the African continent with the establishment of ICBA Africa in Nairobi, Kenya. For AIBA, participating in the forum is a significant step in asserting the Angolan beverage industry's presence internationally and integrating into global discussions and cooperation within the sector.

Mois©s Campos, Secretary for Information and Communication of AIBA, highlighted that the association's presence in the ICBA international forum not only represents Angola's involvement but also underscores its importance in a key global platform in the beverage sector. He noted that the event provided an opportunity to showcase Angolan expertise and follow international trends.

Campos stated, 'This is the first time that Angola has participated in a space of this size, where the major challenges related to industry, sustainability, health, and economic development are discussed. For us, it is a source of pride to be able to share Angolan experience, learn from international best practices, and strengthen our country's position in the African and global context.'

He added that this international engagement could bolster the national industry, especially as the sector gains importance for economic diversification, job creation, industrialization, and the enhancement of domestic production. 'We believe that this international approach will be important for strengthening our industry and for the sustainable development of the sector in Angola,' concluded Mois©s Campos.

Participation in the forum underscores AIBA's commitment to modernizing, promoting sustainability, and enhancing the competitiveness of the beverage industry in Angola while building connections between the national and international industry networks.
