Angolan Foreign Minister Engages in Strategic Reception Hosted by South Korean President

Seoul: The Angolan Minister for Foreign Affairs, Tete Antonio, participated Tuesday in a reception hosted by the President of the Republic of Korea, Lee Jae-myung, for African foreign ministers present in Seoul for a ministerial meeting with the South Korean government.

According to Angola Press News Agency, the meeting, held at the Blue House, brought together 20 foreign ministers from African countries and allowed the new Korean Head of State to greet the representatives of the continent and reaffirm the commitment to strengthening strategic cooperation between Korea and Africa. Lee Jae-myung highlighted Africa's growing role in the global economic, political and geostrategic dynamics and emphasized the continent's potential in the fields of natural resources, energy, agriculture, industry, technological innovation, youth, and digital transformation.

The South Korean statesman also reaffirmed his country's interest in deepening partnerships with African states, based on mutual benefit, sharing development experiences, increasing trade and investment, as well as technical and scientific cooperation.

According to a statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the ministerial meeting held in Seoul constitutes an opportunity to consolidate political dialogue between Korea and African countries and open new perspectives for stronger cooperation oriented towards sustainable development. Angola's participation in the meeting is part of its foreign policy of strengthening bilateral and multilateral relations, as well as promoting opportunities for economic, technological, and diplomatic cooperation with strategic partners.

The meeting was also attended by Ministers of Foreign Affairs from Egypt, Algeria, So Tom© and Pr­ncipe, Gambia, Nigeria, Tunisia, Benin, Central African Republic, Rwanda, Cameroon, Botswana, Kenya, Eswatini, and Malawi, among other African countries.
