Luanda: The 12th edition of the Banana Fair (Feiba), currently taking place at the Panguila Market in Bengo province, is facilitating the establishment of partnerships among farmers, businesspeople, and investors for the production of organic fertilizers in Angola.
According to Angola Press News Agency, Elson Mello, Commercial Director of the organic fertilizer distribution company "Ofio Yulu," mentioned that these partnerships aim to foster sustainable solutions and the subsequent development of the agricultural sector. He noted that the firm's objective is to attract investors to increase local production of organic fertilizers-particularly solid ones-and reduce imports.
Elson Mello revealed that the company secured several strategic partnerships during the fair. He reported that "Ofio Yulu"-headquartered in Andulo (Bi©) with a presence in Luanda-has the capacity to supply up to 50 tons of liquid organic fertilizer per month, thereby strengthening its ability to meet domestic market demand.
Furthermore, he viewed the Banana Fair as a significant stimulus for agricultural sector development, advocating for similar events in other provinces to bring together producers, investors, and suppliers of agricultural technology and inputs.
The Banana Fair serves as a venue for showcasing and selling agricultural produce from Bengo and other provinces-with a special focus on bananas-as well as agricultural machinery and equipment used throughout the production chain. Established by the Bengo provincial government in 2012, the Banana Fair has become the province's largest business exchange event.
