Boussouma’s Batto Village Celebrates Inauguration of L¨badeem Communal Square

Boussouma: The village of Batto, located about 32 kilometers from Tenkodogo in the Nakamb© region, celebrated the official inauguration of the L¨badeem communal square. The square, meaning "Let us understand each other" in the Bissa language, is now the largest roundabout in the region, highlighting a significant step in local community mobilization.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the construction of L¨badeem Square was a collective effort led by the National Coordination of Citizen Watch (CNAVC), Boussouma branch. The project raised 5,300,000 CFA francs through contributions from residents and the diaspora. The initiative aimed to strengthen social cohesion and provide a meeting space to address rural exodus challenges, particularly among youth. Gu©n© Salam, an active CNAVC member, recalled the project's humble beginnings with old tires and flags.

Abdoulaye Gouem, president of the citizen watch, expressed gratitude to God and all contributors from the sixteen villages of Boussouma and the diaspora. The inauguration featured traditional dances, songs, musical performances, and significant public participation, with people of all ages gathering to celebrate.

In conjunction with the inauguration, the community undertook several development actions, including planting around a hundred kac©dras to green the locality, donating four tonnes of cement to the local brigade of Faso Mªbo, and providing food and oil to the Volunteers for the Defense of the Homeland (VDP).

The ceremony commenced with the Ditany¨ performance in the Bissa language, followed by artistic displays. Naaba Saaga, the traditional chief of Batto, praised the population's mobilization and offered blessings for peace. Grand Imam Moumini Gouem focused on unity in his message, emphasizing Islam as a religion of love.

Ms. Assetou Mar©, CEO of Sakina ‚¬Å¡¬€¦¡¬€š¬¦¡¬€š¬…¡¬¦¡¬€š¬…¡¬‚¬¦¡¬¦¡¬°nergie, encouraged women to participate actively in local development. Adaman Kambon©, representing the president for the Nakamb© region, emphasized collaboration and urged an end to unnecessary conflicts to promote development in Boussouma.

El Hadj Oumar Gouem, CEO of AIMALI BTP and sponsor of the ceremony, expressed satisfaction with the event's turnout, indicating Boussouma's progress. L¨badeem Square stands as a symbol of civic engagement and local solidarity, with organizers urging other communes in the Nakamb© region to take inspiration from this initiative.
