Zaire: A number of children from the Zaire province with health problems will receive medical and pharmaceutical assistance in Germany in the coming months. To this end, the National Institute for Children (INAC) in Zaire has been carrying out a registration process for minors with diseases that are difficult to treat in the country since October 28th of this year.
According to Angola Press News Agency, the head of the INAC provincial service, Rafael Kidiwa, stated that the program is implemented in partnership between the non-governmental organization Kimbo Liombembwa and the Government of the Province of Zaire. He explained that for this phase, children aged between two and 12 years old, who present with severe burns and chronic wounds, are being registered.
Kidiwa noted that between February and October of this year, 20 children with various pathologies have already been registered and are awaiting medical evaluation at the Zaire Provincial Hospital. "The number of children to be registered is undefined. We will register all those who present themselves to our services, so that they can then be submitted to evaluation by the health authorities," he explained.
The partnership between the local government and the Kimbo Liombembwa organization regarding the sending of children to Germany dates back to 2002. The program has already benefited 30 children from this region.
