A middle-aged man found trafficking 50 rolls of bhang with street market value of Sh5000 was arraigned before a Kabarnet court Monday. The charge sheet stated that on February 10, this year, at around 5.30pm in Marigat Township, Baringo South Constituency, Teddy Kibet alias Rasta was found trafficking a narcotic drug namely Cannabis Sativa. The accused arraigned before Senior Principal Magistrate Purity Koskey on Monday faced a charge of trafficking a narcotic drug contrary to section 4 (a) of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Control Act No.4 of 1994. He denied committing the offence claiming it is not true. In her ruling, Koskey granted the accused a bond of Sh50,000 with a surety of similar amount with an alternative cash bail of Sh15,000. The case will come up for mention today when a hearing date will be given. Source: Kenya News Agency
