Moçsmedes: The Namibian consul in Ondjiva, Eslon Tjejamba, today advocated in MoçSmedes for strengthening cooperation between the ports of Namibia and Walvis Bay, through the sharing of experiences and best practices in the operational, commercial, maritime, technological, and marketing fields. The diplomat emphasized the importance of closer collaboration between Angola and Namibia to enhance the institutional and operational capacities of both ports and to identify opportunities for mutual development. According to Angola Press News Agency, Tjejamba highlighted the longstanding good relations between Angola and Namibia, rooted in their historic independence struggles and ongoing socio-economic development efforts. He expressed that both nations are now well-positioned to collaborate on economic emancipation and to establish a common agenda for growth. The consul noted that the Namibe port company is planning several projects, including infrastructure construction, equipment modernization, and staff trainin g. He stressed the importance of working together to learn and exchange experiences, observing global trends to foster similar developments in local communities. The Executive Director for the Commercial Area of the Port of Namibe, Domingos Delfim, who represented the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Namibe Port Company, reaffirmed the institution's commitment to deepening technical and institutional cooperation. Delfim emphasized that knowledge exchange is crucial for enhancing service quality, operational efficiency, and port competitiveness. He revealed that the meeting concluded with an agreement for reciprocal technical visits during the second half of July. These visits are intended to facilitate experience exchange and the development of joint strategies to better serve the region's landlocked countries, particularly Zambia and Botswana.
