Remains of Journalist Manuel da Concei§o Laid to Rest at Santa Ana Cemetery

Luanda: The remains of Manuel da Concei§o, a journalist with Public Television of Angola (TPA) who passed away on the 23rd of this month due to illness, were laid to rest today, Saturday, at Santa Ana Cemetery in Luanda. Amidst an atmosphere of deep emotion and sorrow, the burial service featured several tributes-most notably the family eulogy and testimonials from relatives, friends, and colleagues-culminating in the interment of the casket.

According to Angola Press News Agency, family members described the deceased as a role model for new generations in how he faced daily challenges, as well as a source of comfort where one could always find a kind word, serenity, courage, wisdom, and determination. "That simple yet profound way of approaching life became one of the most valuable legacies you left us," stated the family eulogy.

TPA's management highlighted the loss of a professional of recognized merit, a loyal colleague, a man of integrity, and a friend who was always ready to serve, offer counsel, and share the best of himself. For the company, "Uncle So"-as he was affectionately known by colleagues, friends, and family-earned a unique place in TPA's history and in the memories of all who had the privilege of working with him, as he was a true "living archive."

TPA's statement of condolence added that his deep knowledge of Angola's political history, the city of Luanda, and current national affairs made him an indispensable figure in the newsroom. "Uncle So taught, mentored, corrected, and inspired; furthermore, he left behind prot©g©s who are now continuing the path he helped pave, carrying forward the values he always championed-such as rigor, ethics, humility, and respect for the news," the statement read.

The son of S©rgio Lus Fernando and Maria da Concei§o, Manuel Lus Fernando da Concei§o was born on February 22, 1959, in the municipality of Benguela, Benguela Province. He joined the staff of TPA on July 4, 1990, as a journalist assigned to the News Department. Throughout more than three decades of service, he distinguished himself through his strong sense of responsibility, competence, rigor, and unwavering dedication to the mission of informing the public.
