Bengo: The Serbian ambassador to Angola, Milos Perisic, revealed that the volume of trade between the two countries is still very low, remaining between 5 and 10 million Euros per year. The information was disclosed by the Serbian diplomat on the sidelines of the 1st business and investment forum between Bengo (Angola) and the autonomous province of Vojvodina (Republic of Serbia).
According to Angola Press News Agency, the ambassador highlighted that Serbia currently secures the majority of exports in these trade exchanges. However, this situation might change in the near future. In 2025, Angola began, on an experimental basis, to export some containers of coffee with about one hundred tons to Serbia. This product could also be exported to Eastern Europe, positioning Serbia as a potential gateway for Angolan products into Europe.
The ambassador emphasized the agricultural potential of Bengo province, along with minerals such as silicon, manganese, bauxite, and aluminum, which could interest Serbia given its industrial profile. Serbia's large industrial production of machines, automobiles, and other goods relies heavily on these materials, and there is potential for business involving both raw and processed materials like aluminum.
Ambassador Milos Perisic considered the forum a significant step in strengthening relations between the two countries, particularly the two provinces. He noted that some Serbian businessmen are already established in the area and will have opportunities to negotiate and partner with counterparts from Bengo and other parts of Angola.
Vladimir Gak, the chairman of the Angola-Serbia Chamber of Commerce, urged for incentives to encourage Serbian businessmen to invest in Bengo province. He also expressed a desire for Angolan businessmen to invest in Serbia.
The 1st Business and Investment Forum aims to identify concrete investment opportunities in sectors such as agriculture, manufacturing, tourism, education, and infrastructure, fostering lasting business partnerships based on trust and mutual benefit.
