New york: Angola participated on Tuesday in the 2026 edition of the United Nations International Bazaar, a solidarity event that brought together dozens of countries to promote cultural exchange and raise funds for humanitarian causes. According to Angola Press News Agency, the initiative, held under the motto "Shop for a Cause," attracted hundreds of visitors who had the opportunity to learn about the traditions of various countries through gastronomy, music, dance, and crafts. Angola's participation was highlighted by its exhibition of national products and typical dishes of Angolan cuisine. Featured were múcua (baobab fruit) juice, bulukutu tea, and a local craft spirit beverage, which captivated the interest of many attendees. The event saw the presence of the president of the 80th session of the United Nations General Assembly, Analena Baerbock, who presided over the opening ceremony, including the ribbon-cutting ceremony. United Nations Deputy Secretary-General Amina Mohammed also joined the ceremony and commended the objectives of the initiative, noting its status as a tradition within the organization. Promoted annually by the Spouses of United Nations Delegations Club, the UN International Bazaar will allocate the proceeds from this year's edition to support the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA). Ambassador Graça da Cruz, who led Angola's participation, is part of the event's organizing committee as president of the Group of Spouses of African Ambassadors to the United Nations.
