Luanda: Angola took over the rotating presidency of the International Organization of Supreme Audit Institutions of the Community of Portuguese-Speaking Countries (INTOSAI/CPLP) on Wednesday in Luanda, succeeding Guinea-Bissau. The inauguration marked the conclusion of the organization's 13th General Assembly. According to Angola Press News Agency, by assuming the organization's leadership, the Angolan Court of Auditors reaffirmed its commitment to continuing the work developed by the outgoing presidency. This includes promoting initiatives that enhance cooperation between similar institutions, with a particular focus on addressing climate challenges and sustainable development. Angola will lead the INTOSAI/CPLP for the next two years, aiming to contribute to strengthening external oversight and fostering more transparent and resilient public management that prioritizes the well-being of the population. The 13th INTOSAI-CPLP General Assembly will culminate with the adoption of the "Luanda Declaration," a do cument underscoring the collective commitment of the CPLP SAIs to address climate change and its impacts. During the assembly, key conclusions from technical discussions were consolidated, and recommendations were made to bolster climate governance in Member States. These efforts aim to directly contribute to public policies designed to mitigate the climate crisis and to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
