Luanda: The Angolan Football Federation (FAF) is set to introduce Frenchman Patrice Beaumelle as the new coach of the national football team. Beaumelle will officially take on the role on Monday, taking over from Portuguese coach Pedro Gonçalves, who served for six years from 2019 to 2025. According to Angola Press News Agency, Beaumelle will sign a two-year contract, marking him as the second French coach to lead the Angolan national team after Hervé Renard, whom he previously assisted in Angola in 2010. Beaumelle has a notable history in African football, having worked alongside Renard in coaching Côte d'Ivoire and Zambia to African championship victories. Although Angola will not be participating in the upcoming World Cup, the main goal set for Beaumelle is to prepare and lead the team for the Africa Cup of Nations scheduled to take place in Morocco in December 2025 and January 2026.
