Belgrade: Serbia expressed interest on Tuesday in establishing a direct air link between Belgrade and Luanda, aiming to improve connectivity and boost economic and trade relations with the Southern African nation. The announcement was made by Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic during a business roundtable titled "Serbia and Angola: From Successful Projects Towards a New Partnership - 50 Years of Friendship and Cooperation," which was jointly chaired with Angolan President Joo Louren§o.

According to Angola Press News Agency, the Serbian statesman emphasized that improving links between the two countries is crucial for increasing trade, tourism, and investment. He highlighted that Angola, being one of Serbia's historical partners in Africa, will continue to receive special attention within Serbian foreign policy. The Serbian Head of State encouraged entrepreneurs from Serbia to invest in the Angolan market, noting that Angola is one of the most significant economies in Sub-Saharan Africa and an attractive destination for private investment. He mentioned that several Serbian companies already operate in Angola and others have shown interest, particularly in sectors like agriculture, information technology, tourism, industry, energy, and infrastructure.

The Serbian President underscored Angola's agricultural potential and stated that Serbia's experience in cereal production, fertilizer use, irrigation systems, silos, and modern technologies can contribute to increasing Angolan agricultural productivity. He also mentioned possibilities for cooperation in the fields of food industry, livestock, refrigeration, satellite monitoring, e-government, digital health, cybersecurity, and digitalization of tourism activity.
